Pat Borders -- Hall Worthy?

December 08, 2008 at 04:35AM View BBCode

Well, everyone else is on a mission to destroy Sports Talk. I might as well get in on the fun.

Even if you don't think Borders' 69 lifetime home runs and career .253 batting average qualify him for a place among the game's greats, you have to consider his exceptional defense and, of course, his tough-guy grit. In fact, in lieu of the actual hall, Pat should open his own hall--called the "True Grit" hall, in which he will of course be enshrined alone, for no man can ever measure up to Mr. Borders' grit. See below:

You see it? You see the grit? Damn right you see it.

So full of grit he bleeds grit.

That grit looks an awful lot like blood.

(And the only thing missing from your testimonial is the porn-stache photo.)

Clearly an oversight. He'll need to open a second hall of fame just for porn-staches. He won't be alone in that one, I'm afraid.

For starters:

If there is a true grit HOF, Eckstein will be there. Is that what you want? Is it REALLY what you want? WELL, IS IT???

In the "True Grit Hall of Fame," yes.

Also, I've desperately wanted to work Rance Mulliniks into something for a long time. Because the dude's name is Rance Mulliniks. I mean, c'mon.

With me being from Baltimore, and an O's fan...that raises some questions...as well as loyalties...hmm.

Far too many Orioles fans, I say. It has come time to cleanse this realm with fire...

Well, that's good news.

Duffness, I also mentioned the Mulliniks vaguely in the Ozzie Smith thread.
