I'm not sure how the rest of this season will play out - or if the games will even run. We'll play it by ear and see what happens - hopefully we won't need to restart the league(s).

Problem with Beta Site

I was working on a change that didn't go as planned and it wiped out all the batter stats on the beta site. Sorry for this mix up.I'm not sure how the rest of this season will play out - or if the games will even run. We'll play it by ear and see what happens - hopefully we won't need to restart the league(s).

I think we've hit a good point to restart the Beta league anyhow, we can test the new variable development stuff from 1950 onwards. I'll post more on this tomorrow.
Sorry once again for this problem - just glad it was on the test beta site and not the real deal.

I'm sure this is a related issue, but just so you know, Cleveland and Tampa Bay both decided to call up a 26th player on the same (simulated) day that the league crashed.

Shows you how useful the Beta league is. I look forward to trying the variable development. I'll be looking for players on the Performance Enhancing curve. :D

I would concur that it's as good a time as any to restart and test variable development from ground zero. Although it will sort of suck to have a guy who has a chance to be the best pitcher ever in the beta league just disappear.

I think I fixed the issue to the point that we can (hopefully) move forward. If possible, I'd like to run a few seasons worth of games while we work out the kinks in the new variable improvement system. We'll restart the league a few seasons down the road.Tyson

I was wondering who lvnwrth was talking about so I looked up All Time Wins leaders and got:
* indicates player is active *** SQLException caught *** query: select min(bstats_year) as minyear, bstats_teams, count(*) as ct, bstats_tp_id from batterstats where bstats_type = 0 and bstats_tp_id = 15030 and length(bstats_teams) > 1 group by bstats_teams order by ct desc SQLState: S1000 Message: Illegal operation on empty result set Vendor: 0
followed by a listing of the top 6 pitchers in wins when I had requested top 20.

The batterstat line is used to get team city and nickname.Tyson
