I saw it, it was OK. Typical end of the world style movie. Lots of action, lots of people doing stupid things that probably shouldn't have done. Lots of judgemental commentary on greed and selfishness.

Could anyone please explain the context for Reno's scene? I mean, it looks like it should be from some oddball black comedy. Black Dahlia, as much as I understand, is (ostensibly) a "Serious Film," yes?

Honestly, I really don't remember the circumstances. But come on, it's De Palma - that's just what he does. Unintentionally hilarious "dramatic" scenes.

the world ends, but it doesnt, because famous actor who you like saves everyone. Well, everyone who matters. Because like 6 billion people died, including you, but that wasnt sad becuase those 6 billion people had no character development, so it was just cool CGI. And the kid lives, which makes you happy. But maybe one guy who you liked died, which made you kinda sad, but in a good way where you realize how much you appreciate them saving the rest of the cast that you like and killing off that douchy guy you didnt like, because you didnt think about him any deeper than his caricature.by the way, i am summarizing the movie by watching the trailer and filling in the holes as I see fit.
