14 through 7, anyone think they'll let him go to see if he can hit 20?

That was an awesome performance to watch, even if it was against the dogshit Pirates.

Watching Strasbourg pitch on TV kind of made me want to jump on the Nats bandwagon but then I would have to listen to Rob Dibble. If you're not local, he's like Tim McCarver in that he never stops yammering away.

First time ive seen him live. He truly deserves the hype. Strike two of his first strikeout actually made me completely involuntarily yell out loud in my house. (2nd pitch of [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPo6DkV7ejE&feature=related]this video[/url]

I know they had pitch count to worry about, but with under 100 pitches thru 7 and having just struck SEVEN straight out including the previous two by 6 straight pitches, hitting 103 MPH, and it is his first start ever, you gotta put him in until he DOESNT strike someone out.

I was talking to my dad after he got taken out, they showed the manager talking to him. My dad figured the conversation went like this:

Coach "how you feeling?"
Strasburg "Great, send me back out coach."
Coach "Well son, if I send you back out there for the 8th, the GM is going to fire me tomorrow."

You do what you have to do. I'll be staying right here, on this side of the fence, the one with all the cockroaches and used heroin needles.

let's not overlook the fact that Baltimore's strip clubs are just, i don't know. a kazillion times better than the ones in DC. i mean, christ. it isn't even close.

(said Baltimore strip clubs are also in close proximity to the ballpark. DC's ballpark is in close proximity to...................nothing.)

So's it's a simple choice.

Baltimore for the peelers and DC for the baseball, easy.

*giggle*

(let us not forget, they are the remains of the expos. and things were once all rosy for the expos too. )

((but then major league baseball failed montreal.))

I seriously doubt that the strip clubs in Baltimore can hold a candle to those in Montreal so that's a road best left untraveled .

so game 2 was 8 Ks, 1 ER in 5.1 and he says in post game interview that it was a rough start and he felt uncomfortable on the mound...

PIT and CLE or not, he's had 22 K's in 12 IP (roughly). That's impressive at any level (except maybe little league U-10).

what is really awesome is when the coaches strike everybody out in coach pitch.
happy

June 14, 2010 at 08:09PM View BBCode

yeah, the dorky guy with the dorky dad who is coaching is never good.

(For those who dont know, the coach pitches to his own team. seven pitches without hitting it and you are out)

So Strasburg, 4 games, 25.1 IP, 1.78 ERA, 41Ks, 5 BB for a pretty damn incredible 14.57 K/9 (current top K/9 in the majors is 10.17, Jered Weaver) and 8.20 K/BB (current leader is Cliff Lee with 19.00, 2nd place is Halladay with 6.13).

3 of 4 games with 9+Ks, 0 BBs.

I dont care who you are pitching against, thats an amazing start to a career (tworoosters wants so badly for Strasburg to fail)
