I also think Joey Votto deserves a spot but given the depth at 1B it's tough, though he is having a better year than Howard .

I'm surprised that Youkilis was left off the AL squad but I guess Ortiz is the fans fave .I also think Joey Votto deserves a spot but given the depth at 1B it's tough, though he is having a better year than Howard .

I don't like the new rules, but the purpose of the game is to give the fans what they want, so I suppose they make sense.

AL: Andrew Bailey, Justin Verlander, Rafael Soriano, Michael Young, Kevin Youkillis, Andy Pettite, Brennan Boesch, Paul Konerko, Alex Rios, Shin-Soo-Choo, Carl Pavano, Jeff Niemann if he had a couple more Wins, maybe Colby Lewis, Jon Rauch. I am not saying these players should have made the All-Star team just they were deserving.

if you think there are 20 guys who deserve the all star team who didnt make it, you are kinda missing the point of the all star team.
