Injured SP...probably not new...

...but I didn't see it anywhere recently.

Is there a way for ABE to choose a reliever to start a game, without dropping an injured starter from the rotation. Scenario goes like this:

15-game per day league. Starter 1 is injured in the first game of the day, for seven days, during a stretch when we're playing five games in five days. He should only miss one turn, at Game 6. He should be healthy again to pitch Games 9 and 14. But, I'm busy and I don't know he's hurt. Since he's still hurt on his next scheduled turn, a reliever moves into the rotation and pitches the 6th and 11th games that day - his regularly scheduled spot. Starter 1 is dropped from the rotation and his role is changed to "SELECT"

I'm still busy, so I don't check the next day till noon, by which time he's already missed two more starts. BUT...since he was healthy again and his role was "SELECT", ABE has used him out of the bullpen four days in a row, so he's fatigued and misses yet another start. End result - five missed starts, in addition to the one when he was actually hurt and couldn't pitch.

There's got to be some way to handle this other than the present method.

i'd think the simplest way would be for ABE to leave the rotation as is and just plug in the reliever he was going to select anyway without changing the rotation. how difficult that would be to code, i have no idea. it's a nice suggestion, for sure.

Dirt...I'm not a programmer. But, given that we can already tell ABE which relievers to used, based on their fatigue going into the game - and a whole bunch of other stuff more complicated than putting a reliever in rotation - I would think that it wouldn't be all that difficult.

I was under the impression that injured starters didn't get dropped from the rotation unless the injury was 20 games or longer. Has this changed I admit I may not be aware of it if it has.

it happened a couple of days with my starter who was out for 7 days, I just happened to be able to keep an eye on it and change the rotation back when he was healed.
