Rickey Veselic continues his playoff dominance by pitching 9 innings of 1 run ball and giving his team the opportunity to win it in extras.

In the 10th the Orioles take advantage of three hits, three walks and a stolen base to put 5 on the board and send Veselic home with a game 1 win.

The Reds knock out Orioles starter Ken Turner in the 5th with a two run homerun off the bat of Richie Millwood. Pitcher Bill Luecken helped out he Reds cause with his bat as much as his arm with two hits and two RBI's on the day. Two Reds relievers shut down the Orioles over the last three innings to tie the series up at 1-1.

Game 3

Game 3

With the series tied 1-1 and home field advantage shifting to Baltimore, the all important game 3 started with a bang in the home half of the 1st.

The Orioles wasted no time announcing their presence with authority with 4 in the first and two in the second. Al Hersh, having hit just 15 homers in the regular season launched two big flies in the game going 2-5 with 5 rbi's. The top two hitters in the Orioles line-up scored 6 runs total in the route of the Reds.

The Orioles take a 2-1 lead in the best of seven series

So far through 3 Baltimore has continued its dominate postseason play. My Cincy boys had better wake up fast :)

Game 1 was really a thriller until Baltimore was able to get into Cincy's bullpen.

Game 4

Game 4

Baltimore, up 2-1 continues to flex its muscles at the plate pounding out seven runs on eleven hits and five walks. Ribs Brown (who earned his nickname as a child for being so skinny) was the hitting star for the day driving in three Oriole runs. Once again Baltimore gets contributions from many to pile on the runs.

Bobby Jester, arguably the Reds top hitter suffered an injury when he came up lame running out a ground ball. Later it was announced that Jester will be out for the remainder of the World Series. Jester was unavailable for comment after hearing the news from team doctors.

Down 3-1, the Reds pin their hopes at taking the series back home on their ace pitcher and 21 game winner Jack Veres. Veres was electric in Cincy this year and pitched well enough for a win in game 1 of the WS but was very erratic on the road. He will be opposed by game 1 winner and the surprise of the playoffs Rickey Veselic.

Game 5

The Orioles ended the '75 season in the most dramatic of ways. Peter Velazquez crushed a two run homer off closer Tom Marshall to win the 1975 World Series for the Baltimore Orioles. Al Hersh hit the first ever cycle in DPL World Series history going 5-5 with 3 runs and 4 rbi's.

After the Orioles tied the game with a double off the bat of Al Hersh, Velazquez launched the game winner and series winner into the stands. Both starters only went 5 innings, each allowing 5 runs thus leaving the fate of the game to the relievers.

Hersh who's final numbers in the WS stand at a CYCLE in the final game, 3 homers, 11 RBI's, 8 runs, a 1.249 OPS total earned him World Series MVP it is rumored.

For the Reds and team owner Sam, a second WS appearance loss in as many years since purchasing the team didn't leave the owner speachless after a classy congratulations to the Baltimore Orioles and its owner.

Great season for all the playoff teams, and congrats to Sam for making it to the WS and man7501268 for the rings!!

Thanks. It's nearly the opposite of what happened last season when Baltimore won 112 games and then lost in the playoffs. I've been in this league for 4 seasons now and made the playoffs every season so far, but with my team getting older, and probably will have a few retirements, it will be tough to make the playoffs again any time soon.

Congrats.

Yeah, 2 rings out of 4 years is pretty good I'd say :) You've done well. Probably have one more good season of contending in front of you depending on trades etc.

Very well done Baltimore, I thought you were a team of destiny once you beat my boys.
My under dog team just won it all in the Ozzie Smith League as well, just goes to show you ABE loves an under dog.
Cheers

Wow shocking surprising run by Baltimore ala San Francisco in the MLB last year.

Now, if you'll just send some of those fine pitchers my way...
