Essentially the draft would mean that players from the bot teams could be selected by teams that remain in the league. The order of selection could either be based on previous season records or via a lottery. Teams could rank players and only players that they gave a ranking to would be selected, so if I only ranked 10 players of the bot teams and they were all gone by the time my pick came I would simply pass.
I think this would be a positive move and not too difficult to set up, you could run the dispersal draft right after the O/S runs and before the amateur draft.

So with the creation of the dynasty bots we will be seeing a number of teams fold as leagues are reduced or merged. Most of these teams will contain some talent which could be used by other teams so I'm wondering if there is a plan for a dispersal draft.Essentially the draft would mean that players from the bot teams could be selected by teams that remain in the league. It seems sort of counter-intuitive to have the Dynasty Bot control a team, keep it competitive, develop players, and then throw the whole staff away when a contraction or expansion finally does takes place.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I think this is a great idea. I assumed, until told otherwise, that DynastyBot teams would end with the players released back into the league. I thought I had read somewhere that Admin's plan was for the players on those rosters to be retired....

I completely understand the desire for this but I wonder if it's fair. unless both leagues being merged have the same number of teams could it imbalance the new league? the top three players on 6 bot teams split among 10 would give each merging team two new top players, more or less. the top three players on 10 bot teams split among 6 would give the remaining teams 5 each. which set of teams would you rather be in?

Yeah, those teams simply won't be moved into the new merged league. It would be a pretty big project to do otherwise, and I'm not so sure it would be a good thing.Tyson
