Early retirement logic

May 10, 2014 at 08:13PM View BBCode

Going through some old drafts and noticed that [url=http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=510242]this guy[/url] retired after one year. Now it's true he spent the year on waivers but he would be among the top 10 rated WRs on the waiver wire currently.

Just wondering why he retired.

Probably ego's too big. I don't want him on my team with that kinda attitude.

I dunno, 31 isn't that bad [url=http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=515244 ]this guy[/url] is much worse and his production was pretty decent, lead the league in passes defended, tied for 5th in breakups and 2nd in picks.

It looks like he was caught in a "cull". About 40% of the waiver wire is culled every offseason to keep it from growing out of control. Attitude is indeed a major factor in deciding players that get culled. He had just under a 50% chance to get culled. Players with a Best Role rating over 70 do not get culled.

Looking at the formulas in this section, I can see a bug that basically keeps most QB's, K's and P's from ever getting culled, so I may need to look over this whole section.
