So this [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=9805844]guy[/url] finished 5th in Cy Young voting. [url=http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp? This player=nobody&mode=stats&id=9934547]guy[/url] didn't place in the top 5. Seems a bit strange. Player B had a better ERA, more CGs, more SHOs, more IP and more K's (League leading 241). Player A had 1 less loss, less HA, less BB, and a better WHIP. They both had 19 Wins. Obviously I'm biased towards my player (Player B), but doesn't it seem like he had the better season?September 10, 2014 at 04:41AM View BBCode
Walks, hits, and CG aren't in the formula, I did not know that, SHO are just worth 1 point, so McCormick gains 2 there, but you get 12 for making the playoffs, which gives Cullop a 10 point lead. Cullop gains 2 on the losses, now up 12. The strikeout difference is worth less than a point.September 10, 2014 at 06:57AM View BBCode
The SIM Cy Young formula is the Neyer-James formula, devised by ESPN's Rob Neyer and Bill James, the father of advanced stats.September 10, 2014 at 02:28PM View BBCode

Must be some real good pitching, or a real imbalance in the league for any guy with 19 wins to not make the top 5. Either one of those seasons could win a Cy Young in some years.Pages: 1
