In the perfect storm Biff slotted into the 5 hole, made his 22 starts and went 14-0 with 11 complete games and a remarkable 6 shutouts, 2nd in the ASL. Biff ran away with the NL Rookie of the year award, and promptly showed his true worth in the playoffs in mop up relief action.
Sadly for Biff that was the end of the fairy tale, Biff lost 5 points in velocity and 3 in control and wasn't offered a contract in the OS. Still he'll have some great stories to tell at whatever junior college he ends up coaching at in a year or two. The ASL is a cruel mistress my friends, I wonder how much he can get for that ROY trophy on SIM Ebay ?
