It certainly doesn't appear that anything new is being tested that involves free agency , and if it were how valuable would the data be from a 7 team league ?
As long as it is around I feel a duty to drop in once in a while, I try and do it every season but sometimes miss one, so I'd really prefer if it was just retired.

I can't remember the last time I really studied the bids and then bid. I generally just throw out whatever and then generally sign a few, usually because there is only a few teams bidding at any given day.
