Exhibition season

March 18, 2017 at 09:56PM View BBCode

It has probably been brought up before but I would't mind seeing an exhibition season with expanded rosters and improvements. Also maybe adding improvements to playoffs. I know why people don't like that idea, but most play off rosters are vets that would not be that effected and in real life play offs can make a big difference in player development. Or maybe an option for each league to be able to activate these options would be nice.

I've always been in favour of improvement chances in the playoffs .

football has a slate of preseason games and it is the most excruciatingly boring time imaginable.

If we could run the exhibition season all on 1 day, perhaps the same day as the expansion draft. It would mean running the OS until maybe 3-10 and then draft on 3-15 and run maybe a 12 game exhibition season.

Off Season is too long for most as it is. If you have a exhibition season you run the risk of going into game one with players on the DL. Unless your real reason is play the minor league players and get extra improvement on them but that could get them hurt and lose chances. It is a iffy plan.

I think playoff improvements would be an upgrade for minor and big leaguers, plus the two teams making it to the world series could get seven more days of improvements. It would also be an added bonus for making it to the playoffs. A spring training of sorts, i also like the idea. Maybe not extra improvement chances but maybe getting grades for what positions a curtain player can switch to. Change it up to, put a curtain player for whatever games in spring training ( say max 2 positions) and they get a grade or high/low percentage for that position. A low grade or percentage, that player wont develop at that position. And try any player for any position, there are position players that have better grades then pitchers sometimes coming in the draft. Idk something different and new would nice. Drafting a CF who becomes your closer or vise versa, thats what spring training is for and it happens all the time in real life.
