... and we finish 2nd in the NL. It was a great race. Really thought the Cubbies had my number. The Cards barely squeaked in.August 14, 2017 at 08:53PM View BBCode

Well I am old enough to have actually witnessed the 1971 Baltimore Orioles. It was quite a team with 4 20s a very rare thing in baseball.August 15, 2017 at 05:46AM View BBCode

They would have won easily. I think they were down 4-1 in the series when the fix was canceled, and they almost brought it back but lost in the end 5-3. This was, of course, back during the era of a best of nine World Series.August 16, 2017 at 02:27PM View BBCode

First St. Louis, and now Oakland. In a remarkable pitching season for Oakland, the A's rotation has truly outdone themselves. Four pitchers won 20+ games, three of them winning 25 or more. Each of the four had an ERA under 2.40, which led to a record team ERA of 2.44. Never seen anything quite like it before in this league. Oakland led in 7 pitching categories, and dominated the Cy Young race.Pages: 1
