Box scores

December 19, 2001 at 12:13AM View BBCode

This is probably more aesthetic than anything else, but it would be a nice addition if the box scores could include, for instance, the pitchers' updated records, updated homer totals for whoever homered in a particular game, updated batting averages, etc. Don't know how viable that is, but it would help give some perspective on players game-to-game at a glance.

Maybe something like last 7 games so as to see who is not doing so good in the last week. I really would love to see this would help out in making some minor tweaks to lineup changes.

this post had negative 12 replies. wtf?

and showtime, there is no "hot" or "not". past performance is not at all a measure of future performance. Look at the ratings, not the stats.

I wouldn't mind seeing how my players have performed over the past X days. I know it has no bearing on how they will perform in the future, but it would be pretty nice to see.

The box score totals thing, though, that's a great idea. I think it's already up on ideascale.

This has been proposed before, it's a nice idea but my understanding is it would really slow down the game engine.

lolol.

oh, and the real thing with hot or not is that it will mislead people into starting players that they shouldnt be starting, whether or not it's fun, that's no good.

Wow, how did somebody find this thing to revive it ?

Let's at least reply enough to get it to zero :D

Is this issue on Ideascale yet?

(checks)

Yes it is, at http://simdynasty.ideascale.com/akira/dtd/540-3581 .... so if you have thoughts on this, commenting and/or voting there would be useful :)

I played with hcboomer in the first private league. I don't think he's been on the site in years, though. How funny ...

-1.

I like the season total thing that Celemantia linked. Gives it that ever slighter sense of realism. Because, I don't know about you guys, but, I care about my fake players!

Dirtdevil gets the honor of the almighty 0th (0th? 0st? 0nd? 0rd?) reply.

As for the hot or not thing, hey, if that's how someone chooses to run a team, they have that right. Trust me, if the season's 3/4 of the way over, the guy with the actual stats vs. the attributes will play if there's a huge discrepancy (.217 vs .317 as an example). Ride out the hot hand. It's a manager's choice.

In SimD, there's no such thing as "hot" or "cold." Sorry, Katy Perry.
