You have entered the jesus free zone. (unless of course you want to talk about purple jesus, that's a whole other thing)

well McNabb got injured...so the Vick pickup is starting to look smart. (he is starting now...right?)

Also, did anyone else get creeped out by the peterson commercial where he runs shirtless? It looks like his boobs are going to blow up. And the Vikings won behind 180 yards from peterson, so yeah, Brett Favre off to another awesome start where he totally is the star of the team (and totally got sacked 4 times) ((Brett Favre can eat a dick)).

Not a weird as the Head and Shoulders ad with Polu. That was the most incredibly queer ad I've seen in a long time.

Viva Dru Breeze.

you're sick. it might be time to let this go.

perhaps a younger, faster, more awesome, less farve quarterback would get sacked..what? none? 3 times? or perhaps 5? or 10? who...the...hell....knows?

He's a stupid kid. We should all let it go.

So anyway the Redskins are, shockingly enough, the same mediocre team they were last year. They're starting to enter University of South Carolina territory.

I don't even dislike them, like I do Notre Dame or Miami, they're just so censored boring. And so are the Redskins. Just good enough to lose by a TD or so to a good team, and probably good enough to squeak out a 14-13 win against a dogshit team. And at some point they'll have one win against a good team and one absolute disaster against the Lions or some such piece of crap. They'll finish 7-9 or 8-8. They'll miss the playoffs. Everyone will bitch about their role on the team. They'll add another free agent in the offseason. They'll put the same mediocre product on the field next year. It's goddamned depressing.

I like the Cowboys new deluxe model television, I keep hoping it loosens from its moorings and crushes the players below, but still, it's nice.

that's 2, count em, two, terrible roughing the passer penalties against the Boston Pats.

I hate them as much as anyone, but c'mon...

So, the Bills taking that kick out of the end zone is pretty much the dumbest thing ever.

fighting for the extra yard was.

the pass protection on the last posession was a thing of beauty also.

and by the way, what on earth are the officials wearing? those things are hideous. there is such a thing as carrying the throwback idea too far.

It is so damn depressing. But what do you do? Who do you sign? The thing about the redskins is that their problem is a problem with the backups, which is really a problem that needs some smart people. Smart scouts or whatever. Redskins will never have that, they will just keep signing the big names.

At least we have a shot at the playoffs. We are never a top team, but god, at least we arent like the orioles.

changing the team nickname to something inoffensive would be a start...

where's the outrage over that racism, fg?
dirtdevil

September 16, 2009 at 01:44AM View BBCode

we've done that a few times already, actually. they're in the archives somewhere. ogl i think, or maybe sports talk. this may come as a shock, but essentially happy defended the name as not racist and craig, me, tim (well, pretty much everyone else) were of the opinion that it was. happy even wen t so far as to pull out the 'it was meant as a gesture of respect' card, which was good times.

I figured as much.

It still astounds me that the name hasn't been changed.

How 'bout the Washington Americans?
dirtdevil

September 16, 2009 at 02:01AM View BBCode

it should be changed. it won't though, sadly. tradition is unfortunately sometimes stronger than good sense.
