NL MVP

This is the least talked race in the league right now, and the last talked player will probably and should win this and that would be Albert Pujols. HR leader and RBI leader on that side of the league with an above .300 average. Nobody talks about him since the Cards fell out of the playoff race and he does have the best season in the NL. I think there are 2 players who would even be close to Pujols and that would be Joey Votto and Carlos Gonzalez. Both of them actually have very good cases but I am still taking Pujols. Up for vote is Pujols, Votto, Gonzalez, Howard (31 HR 106 RBI and better AVG than Normal), Dunn (38 HR, 103 RBI) , and Holliday (28 HR, 103 RBI with a pretty good AVG) I think are the closest ones for MVP votes.

votto and howard are the only guys on that list with teams in the postseason. generally a guy missing the playoffs will need to have a significantly superior season to win the award. pujols and gonzalez don't have that, so i have to think it goes to votto, especially with cinci having that big turnaround.

Pujols gets the vote from those who think that the MVP is the best player award however, that's not the way the voters usually go. I haven't checked the formula yet-Tyson will probably do that next week-but I'm suspecting that Votto will win.

I agree with Dirtdevil and Bart. Votto will probably win the award (and should, I think).

This is essentially a two man race in my mind between Votto and Pujols and Votto wins . Pujols is having a great year by anyone else's standards but merely average by Pujols standards plus the Cardinals missed the post season.

I think Tulowitski, Werth, Hart and Adrian Gonzalez plus probably Zimmerman and Uggla are all better candidates than Adam Dunn . I wouldn't be surprised if Dunn isn't in the top 10 .

Yes, I'll run the formula next week sometime and see what it spits out.

My gut says Votto. Pujols is going to lose some votes for playing on a non-contender and for having won the award last season. Votto will get some love for "improving" Cincy.

Votto will win, I accept it, as much of a dick as he is.

CF531 thinks he's a dick because Votto made it known through the media he hates the Cubs.

Votto will win MVP because he is Canadian, I mean The Awesomes. I guess it doesn't matter, they are synonomus. :D

Yeah, it's silly really Votto should love the Cubs because they make it easier to win the NL Central every year .
