Richard Seymour is My New Hero

This guy shouldn't get fined, he should get a metal. I would buy him a drink if I ever met him.

Which "metal" do you think he should get ?

Does it have to be real or can it be something like mithril ?

I said something of substance. I am happy that Richard Seymour slapped Ben Roethlisberger because I believe Ben Roethlisberger is a rapist and should be in prison. Do you agree or not?

Does anyone post on here other than these two trolls, or is this just pointless?

wHAT HAPPENS ON THE FIELD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT HAPPENS ON IT. If the League says he's fine out there, that should be good enough for anyone. Ben was convicted of nothing, which doesn't mean he's innocent, just means he can't be punished till convicted. I think he's a bum, but there are plenty of bums in every pro sport. Might even be one you work with. Doesn't mean people should punch him in the face, just because.

actually, that's not what you said at all, originally.

however, do i think ben is a rapist who should be in prison? probably, yes. do i think that ben was being a huge ass when he got in seymour's face? probably, yes. does that make me happy that richard seymour slapped him? not really. it was a pretty dumb move that had a hugely negative impact on his team's chances to win. would i be happy to hear that ben had tried to pull censored in a bar with richard seymour's sister and got the living crap beat out of him for it? probably, yes.

I'll post when the topic is of interest. For me this one where a Patriot's fan loves Richard Seymour for hitting Big Ben (who's last name I butcher and am too lazy to look it up right now) isn't intersting at all, its predictable. After all we have a former Patriot in Seymour, a QB who is universally disliked as a person due to his off the field activities on a team that Patriot fans are inherently jealous of and would like to pretend that they're better than and clearly that's not what history shows. Your opinion here was as easy to guess as the fact that the sun will rise in the east tomorrow.

Rape trumps sports by like a million. It doesn't matter what team Seymour played for in the past. I would have said the same thing about anyone. The fact that I'm a Patriots is completely irrelevant to this discussion. Do you honestly believe my opinion of rape is influenced by sports? That would be disturbing.

No charges were even filed in the case. I'm not saying that Roethlisberger is a good guy or that he is innocent of any wrongdoing, but it is completely unnecessarry to label him a "rapist."

Big Ben is a class A jackass, but what Seymour did on the field wasn't any less assinine.

(And yes, as a New England sports fan it is commonly believed that your sports fandom influences almost every opinion you have.)

Have you read the Police Report? To be honest, I haven't either, but I've had the details of it relayed to me by several different people and it's pretty disturbing. There are all kinds of reasons why charges don't get filed.

so you've been given third-hand information and are using it to make a character judgement to which you expect everyone to conform? i don't have any use for roethlisberger, but the potential pitfalls of that seem pretty obvious.

No, I don't care if anyone conforms. It's just my personal opinion.

obviously you don't care if anyone confirms. otherwise you'd base your opinions on fact rather than rumour. to each their own though, i guess.

The official statement that TMZ got a hold of is pretty scathing but barring video evidence (the tape came up missing, didn't it?) there wasn't enough to charge ROFLSberger with a crime.

which part? that seymour is a former pat, that benny is univerally disliked or that 6 superbowl titles is more than 3?

Didn't see that part in there. But you do tend to see things that aren't there don't you? The Steelers franchise has been great over the years, but don't pretend that they have been better in recent years.

Believe me, NO Pats fan is jealous of the Steelers. And I was a Steelers fan when I was young. We've dominated them in every playoff game recently and will most likely continue that trend in the future. The fact that anyone would say such a thing is borderline lunacy and smacks of jealousy itself. Most of the country, from what I see and hear, is going in the jealousy direction when it comes to Boston sports. This is typical when a team or city dominates in sports for a decent amount of time. How many cities can say they have 6 titles in recent years in 3 different sports? That number will also grow in the next few years.
