I was at AT&T Park (or whatever they call the SF ballpark now) on Friday when Benitez lost to the Rockies. He started the 9th inning of a tie game and gave up two runs on a succession of walks and ground balls (he didn't pitch that poorly really).
The heavy booing Benitez received at the end of that inning took me by surprise. I've been to a lot of ballparks and I've never heard (in person) anyone get booed that badly by his home crowd outside of NYC.
Then, the next morning in the SF Chronicle, Benitez said, "I did my job. I got three ground balls. How many times did we not get hits when we needed to score some runs?"
And it was then that I realized why they were booing Benitez.

blow-nitez isn't terrible, he just only seems to have one pitch, or maybe two, the fastball and the somewhat faster ball. when he keeps it down, it is hard to hit. when it's up, they just crush it.

Good deal for both teams, who ended up swapping crappy overrated relievers...
