The Colts have a better record and just beat your team head-to-head. In what universe are the Patriots the better team right now?

Yep, the whole cheating thing, not gonna get into it all over again because it'll never end, if it made as big a difference as people think they woulda been penalized a hell of a lot more then what they were.

And what makes me think they are the better team is the fact look at the schedule, Patriots lost to Denver, and lost to the Jets, (not including Indy) Indy's only tough game was New England, Arizona isn't that great, a team that hit fire last year, then the Texans and San Fran are average teams that they barely squeaked by, yeah obviously I am biased toward the Patriots, last year, I don't believe they had the better team though, pass defense sucked, linebackers were old, defense has gotten younger and better, and they atleast have some form of a running game this year, my biggest question is where would the colts be without Peyton Manning? The Pats proved to be 11-5 playoff caliber team without Brady and an average defense, can you say the same for the Colts without Peyton? I don't think so, credit has to go to coaching, so come up with something new other then "oh he cheated" as your only excuse to say he's not the best coach today

When the Patriots decided to go for it, did the Colts say "yes!" or "oh censored "? They said "oh censored ." If the Colts had preferred the Pats to punt, which you know they did, then going for it was the right call.

That decision has elevated the Patriots to my 2nd-favorite team.

And every team cheats. The Patriots are no different than Lance Armstrong or Barry Bonds. Someone has to take the blame for the group at large.

2 turnovers in the red zone is why they lost that game anyway. that and wasting timeouts.

I'm sorry you feel that way, I really don't mean to, I just honestly don't notice the difference, I admitted the Pats weren't the best team last year, hell, they aren't the best team right now this year, I just think they are better then the colts, I do love my local teams but I am give honest thoughts and what not, just believe Belichek is the best coach in the NFL right now, no need to throw a fight over it, just what I think, the reason behind it, is the year they got "busted" they went 18-1, best season in history, didn't finish at the end, got outplayed and out coached at the end, that was after the whole spygate thing so that's why I don't get why people call BS on them, like I said no biggie and I don't try sparking fights, not my thing, but I do enjoy a healthy debate, get everyone's thoughts out there, I just love talking sports, but I don't always believes my team's the best, my team's players are the best

No need to feel sorry, you have your own bias based on the teams you watch daily.

I don't think anyone is arguing that Belichek isn't the best coach out there. He's got three Super Bowl rings dispite what he did in Cleveland. The only other current coaches with any rings as head coaches are Tomlin, and Coughlin.

There is also no question that the pats have been a great team this past decade but denying that knowing what plays are coming was a help is just silly on your part.

Its like the manny thing. Claiming him as a better hitter than Pujols is just silly and shows a bias that only a Bostonian would have.

Why do you think that only the Patriots are guilty of this? What they are guilty of is being caught.

Yeah, I'm sure many others have used it, but it's not totally just me being biased, dude, there were coaches, the rams superbowl coach when they played the pats, his name escapes me at this moment, but he came out and said it made no difference what so ever, some coaches said it did, others said it didn't, "experts" said it did and didn't, so it's not just me being a patriots fan

The pats can go 11-5 without Brady because Manning is 1000 times better than Brady, and because the pats schedule is that easy.

Patriots haters blow the whole taping thing out of proportion, of course. There is zero evidence that they knew what play was coming. They also went 16-0 after Spygate, which pretty much tells the whole story.

Now, I am a Patriots fan and I do believe the Patriots are a better team than Indianapolis. I understand that a Colts fan or Patriots hater will say, "how can you possibly say that! The Colts beat them and have a better record!"

Yes, the Colts beat them. And maybe the fact that our defense imploded in a very unlikely manner is because the Colts are a better team. That could very well be true. But I tend to look at 3 1/2 quarters in which we went into their stadium and dominated them. I look at the fact that we fumbled into the end zone, had a 31 yard pass interference call against us on the key Indy drive, etc.

There is a lot to look at in that game that would lead you to believe that the Patriots are the better team. And if you're a Colts fan, you can talk trash on here, but I guarantee you somewhere in the back of your mind, you're really hoping you don't play the Patriots again in January.

god, pats fans are hilarious. you do know that there are other options than "colts fan" or "patriots hater", right?

(is it just me or have pats fans completely blocked out that superbowl loss?)

Remember when the Patriots were undefeated in the regular season, and then they lost in the only game that counts? That was awesome.

November 26, 2009 at 02:34PM View BBCode

look, the pats dominated that game. the only thing that cost them the game was one measley 4th quarter score when the defence imploded in a very unlikely manner. there was a lucky play by the qb on that drive avoiding a sack and a fluky play by a wr catching the ball with his head. so what i'm saying is there is a lot to look at in that game that would lead you to believe that the Patriots are the better team. And if you're a Colts Giants fan, you can talk trash on here, but I guarantee you somewhere in the back of your mind, you're really hoping you don't play the Patriots again in January that year.

This post causes me to question your football knowledge. The Patriots did not in any way dominate the Superbowl game against the Giants. I think you might want to go back and look at the tape.

It also causes me to question your ability to concentrate because it has nothing to do with what we were discussing.

it also causes me to question your ability to engage in a friendly sporting conversation without stooping to insulting behaviour.

Here's the definitive "God love the Patriots, Belichick is the greatest coach of all time" take on it.

[url=http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AhUobx1IaiVKSvyC7dK34KJDubYF?slug=dw-belichickpats111609&prov=yhoo&type=lgns]Dan Wetzel's column[/url] proves that not only was it the right call but the Pats actually made the first down and got screwed over by the zebras.

As for the numbers, I think we all have to agree that we're dealing with some pretty small samples and not all the defenses are equal etc. I remember reading a Gregg Easterbrook column a few years back where he interviewed Don Shula and Shula said that realistically a good team should always go for it on 4th and less than 5 but I can't find the article now so ......

The superbowl game, yeah that was the luckiest catch i've seen, but the patriots had chances to stop them, and had chances throughout the game to win, it's well over with, nothing you can do about it, just have to move on, as fans we can only cheer or boo or whatever, we technically can't do anything, I just know as a Patriots fan I trust Belichek as my coach, there's been a few bad games yeah, but there is also a ton of awesome games, we'll see what happens next
