Honestly, I've gone over the edge on this. Sports talk has far too many interviews with athletes, and it's a complete waste of time. Most likely, they have nothing worthwhile to say. There far more idiots in professional sports than there are people with something fresh to share. Even if they happen to be intelligent, they rarely say anything opinionated in order to avoid giving other teams bulletin board material. Anytime PTI has an interview with an athlete I TiVo right through it, everytime.May 11, 2007 at 01:55PM View BBCode
I particularly hate the half time interview. The guy wants to rest and focus on the game plan for the second half. Those interviews are invariably contrived and pointless.May 11, 2007 at 01:59PM View BBCode
What are you going to do when the new Tivo technology prevents you from fast forwarding?May 11, 2007 at 02:00PM View BBCode
Prevents me from fast forwarding? What nonsense is this you speak of?May 11, 2007 at 02:02PM View BBCode
How about the in-game manager interviews they do for baseball? Excruciating.May 11, 2007 at 02:04PM View BBCode
Yes, the manager interviews are nearly worse.May 11, 2007 at 02:21PM View BBCode
Cox Cable announced a deal with Disney (ABC/ESPN) that will allow shows like Lost to be on the "on demand" network but only if the commercials are unable to be skipped. Its a technology that Tivo has been considering for at least three years and that congress considered passing a law making it illegal to fast forward through the commercials (now that's pretty ridiculous). I heard about it at the tail end of Jim Rome's radio show on Wednesday (I tune in for the guy after him usually) so maybe somebody else heard it as well. Couldn't find the link on the internet.May 11, 2007 at 02:35PM View BBCode
One would hope that it never gets to the point that it's illegal to watch television and not watch the commercials. But if it comes to that I can always mod my TiVo to get around it, so I'm not too concerned...May 11, 2007 at 02:44PM View BBCode
If TiVo makes it impossible to skip commercials, they will lose all their customers to another technology. It will never happen.May 11, 2007 at 02:55PM View BBCode
It's only for the On Demand stuff. I doubt anyone will put up a huge fuss about it.May 11, 2007 at 03:46PM View BBCode
On Demand was my safe haven for commercial free television... Oh, wait, the only thing I watch On Demand is HBO.May 12, 2007 at 02:46AM View BBCode

We do a lot of tivo/dvr and one reason we do is to get rid of commercials and those meaningless interviews.Pages: 1
