(oh, sorry. i have to give credit where credit is due here. i did not mean to leave out mention fo that awesomes bullpen there in phildelphia. its the greatest thing since, i don't know. the tampa bay bullpen.)

(this game could also easily go boston 5-1. acuz luck, and acuz big left handed sticks and even halladay can have an off day. everybody gets one sometime.)
game two: boston 5-1 over Lee and the bullpen. 3-1 if Lee goes nine.
game three: boston 6-2 over oswalt and the bullpen.
game four: boston 5-3 over a three day rest halladay and the bullpen.
(there is a rather strong chance Manual won't do this, in that case, boston 7-5 behind Dice K-acuz the phillies can't even really hit Dice K, because they're terrible- over Hamels and the bullpen)
game five: 2-0 phillies behind halladay. if halladay somehow lost the first game (and, indeed, if the stars even alighned for philly to get halladay out there in the first game, which is kind of doubtful but it could happen) then, if the series is still going on, boston behind some pitcher beats the absolute crap out of whover the phillies start and the bullpen.

(what i am really trying to say here, what was missed in all that "san francisco did it with pitching last season and now pitching is all it takes thing" is that the braves were the absolute awful at offense, the phillies too, and the Rangers were no longer the hitting juggernaut they had at one time been. The Red Sox, seriously, are going to be one awesome hitting juggernaut, and they got plenty, plenty pitching. Yukelis, Gonzalez, and Crawford. that is an offense right there, truly, and they got enough above average pieces to complement them. they get by the Yankees in the ALCS because they will out hit them and win the world series over the pitching loaded whoevers. because they will outhit them too.)[Edited on 4-1-2011 by tm4559]

See tim, when I say you lose credibility with silly statements this is what I mean. You claim the Philies were "the absolute awful at offense" yet they were in the top two in the NL in each of the past three years in runs scored. This includes last season where they were second to the Reds.
I do like hyperbole as well as the next guy but you do have to give credit where its due.

Nobody had more than 4 playoff teams correct, I don't think, nobody had Arizona in the postseason, for obvious, and only Hamilton had faith in the Cardinals, though he had Atlanta vs. Minnesota in the World Series.
This,however, was my fave.
Never pass up the chance to take a shot at Jeter, and of course never man up when he proves you wrong, as he usually has .
