Why don't we have one yet?

Michael Crabtree is awesome and I want to have his babies.

The Huskies? Uh.....

It's never too early for BCS projections, kiddies, and I'll have mine up when the rankings come out tomorrow. For now, here's my personal top 10, based on the latest lunar cycle:

1. Alabama
2. Penn State
3. Texas Tech
4. Florida
5. Oklahoma
6. Texas
7. Oklahoma St.
8. USC
9. Utah
10. Boise St.

(How awesome would it be to see Utah, BSU and TCU all finish undefeated, thus causing ESPN to explode?)

Alright, my own personal top 10 at this point

1. Alabama
2. Penn State
3. Texas Tech (what a fun win yesterday)
4. Florida
5. Texas
6. Oklahoma
7. USC
8. Oklahoma State
9. Boise State
10. Utah

OK, I'm in:

1) Alabama
2) Texas Tech
3) Penn State
4) Texas
5) Oklahoma
6) USC
7) Florida
8) Oklahoma State
9) Boise State
10) TCU

Right now I think it's a coin toss between 1 & 2, Penn State's a mystery because they haven't played much in the way of competition so I've dropped them to #3.

Toss a blanket over #4-#8 as well, all great teams with one loss Boise and TCU at least have beaten one top 20 so they get the nod over Utah.

Since Utah and TCU play each other this week it'll be hard for them both to go unbeaten.

Not to mention, you know, TCU already having a loss.

Wow, Evan Royster is starting for Penn State and playing pretty well.

Well yeah, that'll certainly hurt their chances to go unbeaten.

Huh, I thought TCU was in C-USA. Forgot about the loss. Silly mid-majors, they don't know their place.

Anyway, here's my BCS projection, as promised:

Orange Bowl: Georgia Tech vs. West Virginia (blech. The ACC and Big East don't deserve BCS teams this year, but them's the rules)
Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Utah
Fiesta Bowl: Texas vs. Boise St.
Rose Bowl: Penn St. vs. USC
Championship Game: Alabama vs. Texas Tech

If the season ended today, Utah and Boise get automatic bids based on the mid-major qualifications (top-12 OR top-16 and ranked higher than BCS conference champion, in this case would be both GT and WVU). I am rooting so hard for this scenario.

Penn State is in the process of getting screwed. If Ohio State didn't suck agains't USC, PSU's win agains't them would carry a little more weight. PSU, guilty by association being part of the Suck 10.

If only Tressle would move on like Joe Pa did and not try to win by brute force, and try winning with trickeration and athleticism like the the rest of the college world.

Are you a PSU fan? The reason I mentioned Evan Royster is because my brother is friends with his older brother.

Despite not dominating Alabama still beat a top 20 opponent on the road so I can't drop them from the top spot. If Texas Tech wins in Norman on the 22nd I may reevaluate but for now 'Bama stays #1.

Penn State doesn't have to worry about getting screwed by the weak Big 10 anymore, they screwed themselves by blowing a nine point lead to a team that lost by 36 to Indiana.

Texas, Oklahoma and Florida all looked sharp while USC keeps their hopes alive with a great defensive effort over a pretty good Cal squad. Still USC fall in my rankings as the other three looked more impressive. The SEC Championship game is shaping up to be huge.

Utah's win moves them in and TCU out and Oklahoma State drops out because, well they got stomped and Ohio State scored 45 on the road.

1) Alabama
2) Texas Tech
3) Texas
4) Oklahoma
5) Florida
6) USC
7) Penn State
8) Boise State
9) Utah
10) Ohio State

I'm more impressed with Texas Tech then I am with Alabama. It's pretty close, and really doesn't matter, but I think Tech's victories over Texas and Ok. State are more impressive the Bama's wins over Georgia and LSU.

Texas is a step above Florida, USC, and Oklahoma. I don't think they are the best team of the three, but as of right now they deserve to be ranked ahead. Texas' schedule has been more difficult, and their loss to Tech is much better then Florida's and USC's.

To date, Oklahoma's most impressive win is against TCU (or Kansas, depending on how you see it). If they beat Tech and Ok. State, as well as winning the Big 12 Championship then they should be ranked #2. But they haven't done enough yet.

I'll take Boise State ahead of Utah, just a personal opinion.

It'll be interesting if Oklahoma wins out. That could possibly put Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech all at 11-1. With Texas losing to Texas Tech, Texas Tech losing to Oklahoma, and Oklahoma losing to Texas. I'd personally pick Oklahoma, the victory over TCU is pretty impressive, and they are the only of the trio yet to face Missouri. If they end up beating Missouri in the title game, then they deserve to face the SEC champ in the title game.

My Rankings:

1) Texas Tech
2) Alabama
3) Texas
4) Florida
5) USC
6) Oklahoma
7) Boise State
8) Penn State
9) Utah
10) Ohio State

With the new BCS rankings out, time for new projections. Right now, the big conference suits have to be shitting bricks. Why? Because Utah, Boise St., and Ball State (yes, Ball State) are all in line to crash the party, mostly thanks to the sucktitude of the ACC and Big East. As it stands right now, all three teams have the minimum requirements (conference champions, top 12 finish OR top 16 and ranked higher than BCS conference champ) for an automatic bid. This probably won't happen, but it would be awesome if it did.

Orange Bowl: Florida St. vs. Pittsburgh
Rose Bowl: USC vs. Boise St.
Sugar Bowl: Florida vs. Ball St.
Fiesta Bowl: Texas vs. Utah
Championship Game: Alabama vs. Texas Tech

I'm too lazy to look it up, but what is the tiebreaker if OU beats Texas Tech and there's a 3-way tie in the Big 12 South?

Remember that Alabama has beaten three top 20 opponents (Clemson was #9 in week one) all on the road. That's the difference to me but it's kind of moot as you say because they are really 1 and 1A.

I've also heard that the BCS is only required to take 1 team from a non-BCS conference, even if more finish in the top 12/16.

Yeah, I kind of think that's so.
